PIANIST, MUSIC EDUCATOR, CHORAL CONDUCTOR, EXAMINER, AUTHOR, ADJUDICATOR, STEINWAY TEACHER & EDUCATION PARTNER.
Roxana Tang, BA(Mus, summa cum laude), LRSM, LTCL, FTCL, grew up loving these songs as a young child. As a result, Roxana's love for music began before she started lessons at 8. Having studied piano with Mdm Catherine Tan Siew Eng, Sir Victor Doggett, Mrs Rena Phua, Mrs Anita Olsen and Ms Nina Scolnik, she has taught music, namely piano, for more than three decades. Besides a Distinction for Grade 8 in Piano and Merit in Voice as a Mezzo Soprano, Roxana has also experienced teaching little children in groups of 12 at Yamaha Music School for 14 years.
Since the publication of the “Remember Your Creator” books, she has conducted many seminars for piano teachers, both physically and on zoom, to teachers locally and abroad, as far as the United Kingdom and on public platforms such as Steinway Piano Gallery. Roxana sees the need for children to sing and sight sing meaningful songs, besides playing the piano, thereby obtaining a greater affinity to music, a God-given expression specially created for mankind.
Designed for all ages, REMEMBER YOUR CREATOR encourages everyone to develop musicianship through Sight-Singing, Keyboard Harmony, Improvisation and Ensemble Playing through an abundance of beautiful, melodious and wholesome Christian songs, including a Christmas book.
In progressive order, Books 1-7 appeal to all serious piano students as well as children and adults who play for leisure.
About the SERIES:
Having taught diplomas, higher and lower grades in piano and theory for over 40 years, Roxana Tang realizes that both children and adult students can really benefit from the Christian songs she had learnt through singing them as a child.
These songs are beautiful melodies written to poems. They are now arranged in such a way that piano students get a lot of practice for musicianship elements like sight-singing, exposure to the different intervals used in progressive order, examples to theoretical analyses such as auxiliary notes for melodic decorations and suspensions, filling in blanks to harmonize and improvise in preparation for examinations, as well as aural requirements like musical textures and chord recognition.
All of these and more are included in this series of books that train the serious and leisure pupil to be aware of all these concepts as they learn, sing, play and enjoy the piano. These songs, so full of educational ideas, and yet so lovely and meaningful, are indeed a treasure arranged with much love for everyone’s benefit.
